Garter Lane is delighted to launch this aural initiative.
Courtyard Calibrations will see the creation of specific music and sound for “installation” in our peaceful and calm inner city courtyard space.
The Courtyard in Garter Lane Arts Centre has long been a topic of discussion, along the lines of “should we put something in there?”. The placing of music that is accessible to passers-by and created by local musicians for people of all ages to enjoy is the perfect fit. First up is the extremely well known (locally/nationally) Peter Vogelaar. His Courtyard Calibrations offering is a specially commissioned 15 minute ambient piece that will be highlighted in our courtyard daily from Mon 5th Oct – 10 Oct. In association with Well Festival (Waterford’s festival of arts and Well Being) this piece of music will be heard continuously throughout the day where people are encouraged to drop in, take up a socially distanced space and “have a listen” …
